Dzinkambani bids farewell to Blue Eagles coach DeKlerk Msakakuona

Karonga United were beaten 3-1 at home by Ekwenden Hammers on Saturday, their second home defeat of the season.

The crocodiles took the lead after two minutes through Crispin Mhangama but Ekwendeni Hammers equalised though Zikani Kasambara.

Mabuchi Msiska put Ekwendeni Hammers ahead late in the first half before Zikani Kasambara completed his brace to make it 3-1 in the second half.

After the match coach for Karonga United Dan Dzinkambani told the reporters that he is no longer the head coach for Karonga United.

“I am speechless! Our management is trying to help the team financially but I am disappointed with what happened before the game which resulted to our loss,” he said.

Asked to reveal the reason behind his decision he said: “Give me time I will reveal everything in the next few days but my players have let me down maybe they don’t want me or someone at the club that’s why I decided to quit now and pave the way to others to continue from where I stopped.”

Karonga started well this season, they managed to draw against Chitipa United then they beat Nyasa Big Bullets and Red Lions at their backyard but since their Lilongwe tour where they lost 3-1 against Silver Strikers and drew 1-1 with Civo Service United their performance has become inconsistent.

They were hailed last week when they returned home with six points from the south where they thrashed Be Forward Wanderers 2-0 before defeated Red Lions 1-0 the following day.

Upon his resignation, Dzinkambani has led his team to three wins, two draws and four defeats this campaign and the team lays on position nine with eleven points.
